Job summary

Millbank Holdings Ltd is seeking an experienced CAD Technician in Minffordd to support major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. The role emphasizes on-site collaboration with construction teams and the production of high-quality 2D drawings using AutoCAD.

On-site work with a focus on BIM, digital engineering, and information management. The candidate should have strong 2D AutoCAD experience and the ability to coordinate design information across project teams.

Qualifications

• Experience as a CAD Technician in civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
• Strong AutoCAD skills and 2D drafting experience.
• Experience managing engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Knowledge of Common Data Environments (CDE).
• Understanding of construction design processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Desirable understanding of BIM workflows (Revit).
• Familiarity with ISO 19650 and CDE platforms.

• Produce and amend accurate 2D drawings using AutoCAD.

Location: Minffordd, Gwynedd (based on site 5 days per week)

Salary: £40-45Ltd per hour (outside IR35 subject to an IR35 Assessment confirming outside status)

Job Type: Full-Time fixed Term contract until December 2028 (45 hours per week)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CAD Technician to join our growing engineering and design team, supporting the delivery of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects on site. Site experience is the main priority, particularly someone who can engage with the construction team and prepare simple phasing drawings.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong 2D AutoCAD experience who enjoys working within a collaborative design environment and has an interest in BIM, digital engineering and information management.

Working closely with Design Engineers, Design Managers and project delivery teams, you will produce high-quality 2D drawings, manage project design information and support the successful delivery of design and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

What We\'re Looking For

Essential

• Experience working as a CAD Technician within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
• Strong AutoCAD skills.
• Experience managing engineering drawings and design documentation.
• Knowledge of Common Data Environments (CDE).
• Understanding of construction design processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable

• Experience with Revit and BIM workflows.
• Knowledge of ISO 19650.
• Experience using ProjectWise, ACC, Aconex, Themis or similar CDE platforms.
• Experience within heavy civil engineering, rail or major infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of 3D and 4D modelling software.
• HNC, HND or Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
