Duties and Responsibilities

• Promote safety by design and participate in hazard review meetings.
• Conduct site surveys and coordinate with site teams.
• Review and develop concept and base designs based on tender information.
• Design and review auxiliary supply, protection, control documentation, schematic diagrams, battery and cable sizing, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, core sheets, etc.
• Configure protection and control equipment settings.
• Size current and voltage transformers.
• Create technical specifications for design and equipment.
• Ensure performance aligns with KPIs for timely delivery, requirement management, and accuracy.
• Deliver design work that meets quality standards and project timelines.
• Adhere to project-specific information and employer requirements.
• Comply with applicable standards and specifications.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

• Minimum HNC/HND or equivalent; BSc., BEng. or higher preferred.
• Chartership (IEng or CEng) is desirable.
• Experience with CAD tools and BIM environment.
• Experience in medium and high voltage substation design.
• Knowledge of IEC61850 and its applications.
• At least 5 years’ experience in substation design; 8+ years for Senior; 12+ years for Principal roles.
• Understanding of HSE statutes.
• Familiarity with electrical works standards, protection, control, SCADA, transformers, switchgear, batteries, cabling, earthing, and lighting standards.
