Job summary

Chappell Enterprises UK is seeking a CAD Technician to join the Design team in Bingley. Based at the head office, you will develop coordinated technical designs from concept through to construction and collaborate with engineers and project teams.

Strong drawing production and design interpretation are essential. The role focuses on GA drawings, drainage and earthworks modelling, with opportunities to advance skills in Civil 3D and BIM environments.

Qualifications

• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Experience producing GA drawings and detailed construction information.
• Good understanding of drainage design, earthworks, levels, gradients, and falls.

A full Clean UK Driving Licence is required for you to be considered for this position.

About the Role

As a CAD Technician, you will join the Design team at the head office in Bingley. You will collaborate closely with various teams to develop coordinated technical designs from concept through to construction. This role goes beyond drawing production, offering opportunities to enhance your technical design capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and developing General Arrangement (GA) drawings for sports facilities.
• Developing surface and below-ground drainage designs.
• Undertaking earthworks and levels modelling.
• Preparing cross-sections and detailed construction build-ups.
• Developing coordinated technical drawing packages.
• Interpreting and working from topographical surveys and other engineering information.

Skills and Experience

Essential

• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Experience using Civil 3D for levels, surfaces, earthworks, and/or drainage design.
• Experience producing General Arrangement drawings and detailed construction information.
• Good understanding of drainage design, earthworks, levels, gradients, and falls.
• Ability to interpret topographical surveys and existing site information.
• Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.

Desirable

• Experience with Revit, Navisworks, and BIM-led project environments.
• Previous experience in sports-surface or Field of Play design.
• A degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent professional experience in Civil Engineering, Construction, CAD, or another relevant technical discipline.
