Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking a CAD Business Solution Owner (BSO) and SME to drive successful implementation and optimization of CAD systems, including Siemens NX, and to integrate with Teamcenter across engineering, manufacturing, and IT teams.

You will lead upgrades, define implementation strategies, and champion Model-Based Definition (MBD) with PMI integration to ensure seamless 3D data use and lifecycle alignment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with CAD systems and Siemens NX.
• Experience with PLM systems, ideally Teamcenter.
• Track record of CAD upgrades and implementations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead NX upgrade projects aligned with business goals and tech requirements.
• Serve as the primary CAD expert for inquiries and guidance.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and define scope.
• Analyze and design CAD processes to optimize workflows and work instructions.
• Promote Model-Based Definition (MBD) and PMI integration for 3D data usage.
• Set standards aligning CAD designs with Teamcenter structures through the lifecycle.
• Govern and operate the Standard Parts Library.
• Develop training programs to boost user proficiency with upgraded systems.
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot CAD system issues.
• Stay abreast of CAD technology trends to drive innovation.
• Coordinate with Siemens Energy CAD experts across offices for integration.
• Prepare and present progress, performance, and improvement reports to stakeholders.

• Lead NX upgrade projects, ensuring they align with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all CAD-related inquiries, providing expert guidance and solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop implementation strategies.
• Conduct system analysis and design to optimize CAD processes and work instructions.
• Champion the adoption of Model-Based Definition (MBD) practices, integrating PMI into the digital thread for seamless 3D data use across various engineering processes.
• Establish standards for aligning CAD design structures with Teamcenter product structures throughout the product lifecycle.
• Manage the governance and operations of the Standard Parts Library.
• Develop training programs to enhance user proficiency and adoption of upgraded systems.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless operation.
• Stay updated with industry trends in CAD technology to drive innovation and best practices.
• Liaise with CAD experts from other Siemens Energy offices to ensure successful integration and support of CAD systems.
• Prepare and present reports on project progress, system performance, and improvement initiatives to stakeholders.

What You Bring

• Extensive experience in CAD systems, particularly Siemens NX.
• Experience with PLM systems, ideally Teamcenter.
• Proven track record in managing CAD upgrades and implementations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• A proactive attitude towards continuous improvement and a passion for driving operational excellence.
• Familiarity with CAE Tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of Siemens Energy products and processes is advantageous.
