CAD Sales Engineer

Are you a technically skilled CAD engineer looking to enhance productivity and efficiency in a well-established company? We are seeking a CAD Sales Engineer to join our team in the vehicle bodybuilding industry. This exciting role involves designing and developing custom vehicle bodies, creating detailed CAD designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, and generating parts and materials lists to support sales quoting and manufacturing processes.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:

• Create detailed CAD designs for vehicle bodies to support sales quoting.
• Utilise CAD drawings to build parts and materials lists to enhance quoting processes.
• Create product Bills of Materials and structure builds in parent/child formats.
• Manage parts on the ERP/MRP database.
• Develop engineering drawings and technical specifications for production to minimise manufacturing downtime after customer approval.
• Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand design requirements and constraints.
• Ensure all designs meet relevant regulations and are compliant.
• Work closely with production teams to ensure manufacturability and efficiency.
• Assist in product development and innovation for improved vehicle body designs.
• Conduct design reviews, stress analysis, and material selection assessments.
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control.

This role is ideal for candidates with:

- Previous experience in CAD design

- Proficiency in relevant CAD software

- Robust understanding of fabrication, metalwork, and vehicle body structures

- Regulatory awareness

- Ability to develop practical solutions for custom vehicle designs

- Excellent communication skills to liaise with sales teams, production teams, suppliers, and clients
