Job summary

METIS Aerospace Ltd is seeking an experienced CAD / Mechanical Design Engineer on an interim basis to deliver precise drawings and specifications for aerospace/defence projects and mentor a junior CAD engineer.

You will apply CFD, thermal, FEA and vibration analysis, lead hands-on fabrication activities, and collaborate with design and production teams to support a large contract delivery. This role emphasizes industry standards and knowledge transfer within a growing SME.

Qualifications

• Experience with CFD, thermal, stress/FEA and vibration analysis tools.
• Leadership and mentoring of junior engineers.
• Hands-on electronic and mechanical fabrication.
• AI augmentation of design tools.

Key Responsibilities

Metis is seeking an experienced CAD / Mechanical engineer on an interim basis to provide knowledge transfer to our design and production teams. The key focus will be to mentor a junior CAD engineer, to expand their knowledge of mechanical engineering and best practice in an aerospace and Defence environment, particularly in the use of tools and analytical techniques such as CFD, thermal, stress / FEA and vibration. As part of the role, the engineer would be expected to carry out hands-on design, fabrication, and manufacturing activities.
