Job summary

Quest Global is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to lead design and development activities for aerospace components. You will ensure compliance with industry standards and collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements and deliver robust designs.

The role involves hands-on 3D modelling, analysis, and documentation, with focus on manufacturability, GD&T, and design for assembly. Proactive problem solving and clear design reviews are essential.

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, aerospace, or aeronautical engineering.
  • Experience in design and development of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with NPI programs is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present design reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Execute design and development projects while ensuring aerospace standards compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to capture requirements and execute plans.
  • Stay updated on new tools, technologies, and manufacturing methods.
  • Conduct analyses and contribute to New Product Introductions (NPI).
  • Prepare and review design definition reports.

Capability Requirements

Capable of technically executing design and development projects, ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards, collaborate with cross-functional teams in requirements capture and execution, stay updated on emerging tools, technologies, designs and manufacturing methods.

Seasoned problem solver, conduct analyses and contribute to innovating in New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes.

Demonstratable experience in Design and development of

  • Structural and or rotating part design experience
  • Development of rig design, analysis and integration
  • Material selection
  • 3D part modelling and drafting
  • Interface control definition
  • Stack up and layout creation, clash checks, and tolerances
  • In depth knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing methods, and process selection
  • Design for manufacture and assembly
  • Design calculations and related to stress and strength
  • Preparation and review of design definition reports

Be able to collaborate closely with cross functional teams and project management, aligning project objectives and progress. Solve day to day problems in design processes. Confidently and concisely present work done at customer review board meetings.

Education Requirements

Degree or equivalent experience gained in an engineering discipline (mechanical, aerospace, or aeronautical) preferred.

  • UG NX, PLM Teamcenter
  • Hypermesh
  • ANSYS Workbench/ANSYS classic or similar tool an advantage
  • Competent with PC-based Windows applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
