Job summary

Randstad CPE partnered client is seeking a CAD Engineer in Stockton-on-Tees to design, develop and optimise packaging solutions that meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets. You will translate concepts into detailed specifications and collaborate with suppliers and logistics teams.

The role requires strong CAD skills (3D CAD), robust project management, and clear stakeholder communication. 37.5 hours/week, a 12-month contract, and pay in the £31.85–£33.85 per hour range.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial packaging or materials handling equipment.
• Proficient CAD skills including 3D CAD for design reviews.
• Strong project management with examples of leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and optimisation of packaging solutions to meet safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
• Provide detailed specifications to suppliers and collaborate with logistics providers and cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate packaging materials, machinery and automation technologies; report results.
• Drive continuous improvement and use risk-based decision making to minimise damage.
• Adhere to packaging development processes and approve packaging for product lines.
• Occasional travel for supplier visits and training at other facilities.
