Job summary

Pertemps Specialist Talent Solutions is recruiting a CAD Engineer (Setter Out/ Joinery) in Birmingham. The successful candidate will interpret architectural drawings and 3D visuals, producing accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor, from concept to manufacturing.

You will work with senior management and other teams, manage multiple projects, and ensure drawings are released to the shop floor for production.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience designing for manufacture.
• Knowledge of joinery.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.

Job Title: CAD Engineer (Setter Out/ Joinery)

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £30,000 – £40,000

Hours: Full-time, 44 hours per week (Monday–Thursday: 7:30am – 5:00pm | Friday: 7:30am – 4:00pm)

Our client is a well-established and highly respected specialist manufacturer based in Birmingham, with a long-standing reputation for delivering bespoke, high-quality installations. They work across a range of materials including hardwood joinery, architectural metalwork, and specialist metal fabrications such as bronze and stainless steel doors and frames. With a history spanning over a century, they pride themselves on craftsmanship and working with prestigious clients on unique projects.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity to join a skilled and collaborative team of Draughtspersons / Setter Outs. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to interpret architectural drawings and 3D visuals, producing accurate technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Inventor. You will be involved throughout the full project lifecycle—from initial concept through to manufacturing—ensuring all approved drawings are prepared and issued to the shop floor for production.

Essential Requirements

• Previous hands-on experience in joinery
