Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is seeking a motivated CAD Engineer to join a well-established family-run business in Batley, West Yorkshire. The role involves design detailing for manufacture, coordinating laser cutting, and producing precise CAD drawings. Office-based with occasional customer-site visits, you’ll hold a Mechanical Engineering degree and CAD experience (ideally SolidWorks). Salary ranges £27,000–£33,000 depending on experience, plus pension, healthcare, and 33 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Degree or Master’s in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Previous experience using CAD software, ideally SolidWorks.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to engineering work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out design detailing of units and prepare designs for manufacture.
• Manage plasma cutting requirements and liaise with laser cutting suppliers for pricing and quotations.
• Arrange and order laser-cut components as required.
• Produce accurate CAD designs and engineering information to support manufacturing requirements.
• Work predominantly from the office, with occasional travel to customer sites to carry out design measurements.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers where required to ensure design and manufacturing requirements are understood.

Position: CAD Engineer Location: Batley, West Yorkshire Salary: £27,000 - £33,000 Depending on experience

Our client is a well-established, family-run business with a strong reputation within the engineering industry. Due to continued development, they are seeking an enthusiastic CAD Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at an early stage of their engineering career, with previous industry experience not essential. The successful candidate will have a solid engineering foundation, CAD experience and a genuine willingness to learn and develop professionally.

CAD Engineer Position Overview

• Carrying out design detailing of units and prepare designs for manufacture.


• Manage plasma cutting requirements and liaise with laser cutting suppliers for pricing and quotations.
