Job summary

Prince Personnel are recruiting a CAD Designer for a growing manufacturing business in the Telford area. The role focuses on creating detailed manufacturing drawings and ensuring designs are production-ready.

You will review customer drawings, use AutoCAD and SolidWorks, and work with production and engineering teams to support efficient processes and high-quality products.

Qualifications

• Previous CAD Design experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and SolidWorks for fabrication drawings.
• Experience creating detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

• Review customer drawings, CAD files and technical specs.
• Produce detailed fabrication, assembly and manufacturing drawings.
• Carry out design rule checks for manufacturability.
• Create component layouts and production data.
• Identify and resolve design, dimensional and spec issues.
• Verify drawings and data before release to production.
• Liaise with production, engineering and commercial teams.
• Maintain drawing revisions and technical documentation.
• Support continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives.
• Provide technical support to manufacturing teams.

CAD Designer

Location: Telford

Duration: Permanent

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum - Depending on experience

Hours: Monday - Friday DAYS - with an early finish on a Friday

Are you an experienced CAD Designer looking to join a growing manufacturing business where your technical expertise can make a real impact?

Prince Personnel are working with a successful manufacturing business to recruit a CAD Designer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced design professional with a background in furniture manufacturing, cabinetry, interiors or a related manufacturing environment to join a growing organisation.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing customer drawings and specifications, producing detailed manufacturing drawings and ensuring designs are accurate, practical and production-ready. Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will play a key role in supporting efficient manufacturing processes and delivering high-quality products.

As the CAD Designer, you will be getting involved in:

• Reviewing and interpreting customer drawings, CAD files and technical specifications
• Producing detailed fabrication, assembly and manufacturing drawings
• Carrying out design rule checks to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture
• Creating component layouts and production data
• Identifying and resolving design, dimensional and specification issues
• Verifying drawings and technical data before release to production
• Liaising with production, engineering and commercial teams
• Maintaining drawing revisions and technical documentation
• Supporting continuous improvement and waste reduction initiatives
• Providing technical support to manufacturing teams

Skills and Experience

• Previous CAD Design experience within a manufacturing environment
• Good knowledge and experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks
• Previous experience in roles such as CAD Designer, CAD Technician, Product Designer or Design Engineer.
• Experience within solid surface and raw sheet material manufacturing fabrications
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production methods
• Experience producing detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Knowledge of materials, manufacturing tolerances and fabrication techniques
• Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
