Rate: £25.00 - £30.00 per hour

The Client

Interaction Technical are recruiting on behalf of a specialist engineering business based in Northampton. Due to an increase in project workload, our client is looking to recruit an experienced CAD Designer on a part-time contract basis to support ongoing mechanical and hydraulic design projects.

The Role

As a CAD Designer, you will be responsible for producing detailed engineering drawings and supporting the design of mechanical and hydraulic systems for a range of bespoke engineering applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Fusion 360.
• Produce detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings.
• Support the design and development of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
• Update existing drawings and technical documentation.
• Work closely with engineers and project teams to meet project requirements.
• Ensure designs are accurate, practical, and suitable for manufacture.
• Assist with design improvements and engineering modifications as required.
• Maintain drawing revision control and engineering documentation.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a CAD Designer, CAD Engineer, Design Engineer, Mechanical Designer, or similar role.
• Proficient in Fusion 360.
• Strong mechanical engineering understanding.
• Experience working with hydraulic systems would be highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Experience within manufacturing, machinery, automation, plant, hydraulics, or special-purpose machinery environments would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on and proactive CAD professional with strong mechanical design knowledge and experience working on engineering projects from concept through to manufacture.
