Job summary

Roc Technologies is seeking a Data Technical Lead/Designer to drive the design, delivery and maintenance of copper and fibre cabling systems in Reading. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with project oversight across enterprise networks, data centres, and operational facilities.

Based onsite, you will guide engineers, contractors and project teams to ensure standards compliance. The ideal candidate has extensive structured cabling experience, strong knowledge of fibre technologies,

Qualifications

Extensive experience in structured cabling and network infrastructure environments.
Knowledge of cabling standards and testing methodologies.
Experience leading infrastructure projects and coordinating contractors.

Responsibilities

Act as the technical authority for structured cabling and network infrastructure projects.
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of cabling systems.
Review and approve infrastructure designs, documentation, and installation methods.
Develop and maintain cabling standards, processes, and best practices.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
Oversee structured cabling upgrades and infrastructure modernisation projects.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards (TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC, BICSI, EN 50173/50174/6701/50310/7671).
Manage cabling requirements across data centres, communications rooms, and network cabinets.
