Job summary

Roc Technologies in Reading is seeking Cabling Installation Engineers to join the installation team. You will perform network cabinet installations, install containment systems, and lay Cat6/Cat6A cabling to deliver customer projects.

Responsibilities include termination, testing and labelling of cabling, installing network switches, and copper patching, with emphasis on teamwork and independent work in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Experience terminating copper cabling (Cat5e/Cat6).
• Experience testing fibre and copper cables using Fluke testers.
• Solid knowledge of current installation practices.
• Experience installing containment systems (steel and PVC).
• OTDR testing knowledge is a plus.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Good communication skills.

Cabling Installation Engineers, Reading

We are looking for Cabling Installation Engineers to work as part of the installation team, carrying out works detailed below to deliver customer projects.

Core responsibilities:

• Network cabinet installations
• Primary and secondary containment system installations
• Installation of Cat6 or Cat6A horizontal cabling solutions
• Termination, Testing & labelling of Cat6 / Cat6A solutions
• Network switch installation
• Copper patching

Requirements:

• Experience of terminating copper cabling (Category 5e, category 6 etc)
• Experience of testing both fibre optic and copper cables using Fluke Testers
• Good working knowledge of current installation practices
• Experience in the installation of containment systems (both Steel and PVC)
• Knowledge of OTDR testing would be an advantage.
• Focused and able to work within a team and independently.
• Good communication skills
