Job description

Electrical technician responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing the cable routing network of the project in accordance with UK cabling rules and nuclear regulations. The technician will produce routing deliverables and conduct studies in specified buildings of the nuclear island using an in-house routing software to perform the following tasks:

1. Provide routing reports ensuring data integrity (reliable cable paths and lengths) and compliance with project requirements, including lifetime margins, safety function integrity, and electrical segregation.
2. Interface with the layout team to supply routing reports for assessing tray filling rates and addressing queries that could hinder routing production (e.g., 3D model quality, civil work electrical openings, cable tray design).
3. Assess feasibility studies for design changes or open points affecting routing activities.
4. Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for critical modifications.
5. Gather user feedback on routing software performance, weaknesses, troubleshooting, and participate in beta testing.
6. Communicate updates and progress in weekly routing meetings and to management.
7. Provide training on cable routing software, discipline, rules, and regulations.

The role requires knowledge of electrical regulations (RCC-E, NFC15-100, NF C 13-200, BS7671, IEC 60909), nuclear field experience, understanding of quality processes in nuclear projects, and proficiency with CAD tools like PDMS/E3D, Navisworks, and AutoCAD.
