Job Description

Electrical technician responsible for designing, developing, and reviewing the cable routing network of the project in accordance with UK cabling rules and nuclear regulations. The technician will produce routing deliverables and conduct studies in specified buildings of the nuclear island using an optimized in-house routing software. Regular tasks include:

1. Providing routing reports ensuring data integrity and compliance with project requirements, UK routing rules, lifetime margins, safety function integrity, and electrical segregation.
2. Collaborating with the layout team to assess tray filling rates and address routing queries, including 3D model quality checks, civil work electrical openings, and cable tray design alignment.
3. Assessing feasibility studies for design changes or open points affecting routing activities.
4. Performing risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies for critical modifications.
5. Providing user feedback on routing software performance, troubleshooting, and beta testing.
6. Communicating progress and updates during weekly routing meetings with the layout team and management.
7. Training colleagues on cable routing software, discipline, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of RCC-E electrical regulations and reference systems (NFC15-100, NF C 13-200, BS7671, IEC 60909)
• Experience or education related to the nuclear field
• Understanding of quality processes in industrial nuclear projects
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as PDMS/E3D, Navisworks, AutoCAD
