Job summary

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and skilled Cabinet Assembler to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in assembling bedroom and occasional furniture using engineering drawings. This role involves working both independently and collaboratively on an assembly line to ensure high‑quality production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assembly Tasks
  • Assemble bedroom and occasional furniture according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other assembly equipment to construct cabinets and furniture pieces.
  • Follow detailed instructions to ensure all components are accurately assembled and aligned.
  • Quality Control
  • Inspect components and finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Identify and report any defects or issues during the assembly process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to prevent contamination and damage to parts.
  • Team Collaboration
  • Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and address any challenges.
  • Assist in training new team members on assembly techniques and safety procedures.
  • Documentation
  • Accurately record assembly work and maintain production logs.
  • Report any discrepancies or deviations from the engineering drawings to the team leader.
  • Safety
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and ensure all equipment is in safe working condition.
Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience in furniture assembly or a similar role is preferred. Familiarity with reading and interpreting engineering drawings.

Skills: Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment. Strong attention to detail and precision in assembly tasks. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy furniture components. Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Vocational training or certification in woodworking or furniture assembly is a plus.

Work Environment

Fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Exposure to noise, dust, and other typical conditions of a furniture assembly line.

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday 6am – 2.30pm (40 hours paid per week)

Salary & Benefits

£13.00ph (£27.040 pa) increasing to £14.00ph (£29.120 pa) after 6 months’ probation.
Overtime after 40 hours.
