Job summary

New Route Recruitment Limited is seeking a C/C++ Software Engineer to design, build and support a video platform's Media Engine, powering live and on-demand encoding with advanced effects. The role involves deep development, research and experimentation across codecs, streaming protocols, and new technologies.

You will collaborate with senior engineers and architects to meet the roadmap, own features end-to-end, and stay current with 4K/360 video challenges.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable expertise and experience in C/C++ programming language.
• A real passion for video technologies.
• Bonus points for AWS, encoding or streaming.

Responsibilities

• Iterating, optimizing and monitoring the platform’s Media Engine that sits at the core of our platform.
• R&D projects to ensure our platform keeps innovating on media and streaming.
• Collaborating closely with engineers and architects to guarantee that the video platform will support the technical needs of our visionary roadmap.
• Taking ownership of your work/project by building, maintaining and iterating new features and new products.
• Keep up to date with the latest industry standards and technologies to help the platform to take on the latest video streaming challenges like 4K or 360 video support.
