Responsibilities

• Lead embedded software architecture and system integration

We are recruiting an experienced Lead Embedded Software Engineer to join an established technology business working on the development of advanced video systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on engineer with strong embedded software development skills and practical experience of video encoding, decoding and real‑time processing.

You'll take technical ownership of embedded software development, working closely with hardware engineers and other technical specialists to design, develop and deliver reliable, high-performance video solutions.

Salary: Up to £85,000 + Company Benefits

Key Responsibilities

• - Lead embedded software architecture, development and system integration.
• - Develop and maintain embedded software using C/C++.

• - Good understanding of video pipelines, buffering, memory management and latency.
• - Knowledge of Ethernet/IP networking and associated protocols.
• - Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across software and hardware.
• - Experience taking embedded systems from prototype through to production.
• - H.264 / H.265 (HEVC) video encoding and decoding.
• - SRT or comparable real‑time video transport protocols.
• - FPGA / SoC platforms and associated development tools.
• - GStreamer or similar multimedia frameworks.
• - SDI video, 4K processing and audio synchronisation.
• - Experience with low‑latency video systems.
