Job summary

Leonardo in Edinburgh is seeking a Software Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and testing of our software products for UK air defence projects. You will work in an agile team with multiple engineers and contribute to delivering robust software solutions aligned with customer requirements.

The role emphasizes strong C++ skills, collaboration, and experience with embedded environments and regulated development processes. On-site work is required in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Experience in agile software development lifecycle.
• Strong C++ programming skills, ideally in a highly regulated environment.
• The ability to collaborate and work with others.
• Git (or equivalent) source control expertise.
• The ability to trace, diagnose and resolve potential software issues with a debugger.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, implement and test new product functionality and contribute to planning the work and taking ownership for delivering it.
• Work in an agile team with 7-10 other engineers and collaborate across ~100 engineers to sustain software backbone for national air defence capability.
• Contribute to continuous software improvement and ensure software solutions meet requirements.
