Job summary

Client Server is seeking a C++ Software Engineer / Consultant in Cambridge to help deliver cutting-edge embedded software for automotive-focused products. You will work with customers on technical integrations, define specifications, and coordinate delivery with our engineering team.

The role blends hands-on development with client-facing responsibilities, involving Android/Linux C++ development, cross‑platform work, and opportunities to prototype new product ideas in an R&D setting.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software using C/C++ for cross platform use (Java optional).
• Strong understanding of embedded Linux and Android build systems.
• Familiar with networking, protocol design, compression, security and multithreaded programming.
• Experience with application and embedded development, IoT and set-top boxes.
• Commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable demoing to senior stakeholders and clients.

Responsibilities

• Support customers with technical integration and bespoke developments.
• Collaborate with clients to understand needs and present solutions.
• Coordinate delivery to customers with the engineering team.
• Develop prototypes and explore new ideas in an R&D environment.
• Travel to trade shows and exhibitions to demonstrate the product and drive engagement.
