Client Server is seeking a C++ Software Engineer / Consultant in Cambridge to help deliver cutting-edge embedded software for automotive-focused products. You will work with customers on technical integrations, define specifications, and coordinate delivery with our engineering team.

The role blends hands-on development with client-facing responsibilities, involving Android/Linux C++ development, cross‑platform work, and opportunities to prototype new product ideas in an R&D setting.

Qualifications

• Experience developing software using C/C++ for cross platform use (Java optional).
• Strong understanding of embedded Linux and Android build systems.
• Familiar with networking, protocol design, compression, security and multithreaded programming.
• Experience with application and embedded development, IoT and set-top boxes.
• Commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, comfortable demoing to senior stakeholders and clients.

C++ Software Engineer / Consultant (Android Linux C++) Cambridge / WFH to £60k

Are you a technologist who enjoys client interaction and seeing the results of your work in real-world settings?

You could be progressing your career as a C++ Software Engineer / Consultant at a successful and scaling software house to help create the latest generation of cutting edge products aimed at the automotive sector and high performance cars; the product is currently embedded into 35 million cars and that number is rising.

As a C++ Software Engineer / Consultant you will support customers with the technical integration and bespoke application developments of the core software products. You'll partner with clients to understand their needs and present solutions, articulating requirements to the engineering team, agreeing on detailed specifications and coordinating the delivery to customers.

You'll be collaborating and problem solving within an R&D environment using cutting edge technology e.g. the latest versions of Android and iOS (prior to public release) and the newest silicon and devices not yet available on the market; you will be empowered to develop new ideas and prototypes that have the potential to become new product lines and will collaborate closely with the sales team.

Location / WFH

You’ll join colleagues based near Cambridge North station for 2-3 days a week with flexibility to work from home; you’ll can also travel to trade shows and exhibitions where you’ll demonstrate the product and drive customer engagement (all expenses paid).

About you
