Job summary

Driver Hire is recruiting for HGV Class 1 (C+E) drivers in Newcastle-under-Lyme for a major UK retailer. Full-time roles with day, night, tramping, and depot-to-depot trunking shifts from September through January 2027. Immediate starts after on-site assessment, with overtime options and a modern fleet.

Duties include delivering across the UK, load security, paperwork, and compliance with drivers' hours regulations. Valid C+E licence and tachograph card required.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence is required.
• Minimum 2 years’ Class 1 driving experience.
• Digital Tachograph Card is mandatory.
• Professional and reliable approach to work.
• Good understanding of UK drivers’ hours and road transport regulations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods across the UK network and stores.
• Ensure loads are transported safely and on time.
• Carry out vehicle checks and report defects.
• Complete delivery paperwork and comply with regulations.
