Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation is seeking a C# / C++ Software Engineer contractor to join the team in Bolton on a 12‑month contract. The role requires onsite work with a 37-hour week and a 65 GBP per hour rate. A compressed 4-day week may be possible, with overtime paid at time and a quarter.

• Proven C++ and C# development experience in Windows environments.
• Experience with multi-threaded design and debugging.
• Familiar with Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.
• Ability to read/produce technical documentation supporting software requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Windows-based software interfaces to capture performance data.
• Architect and implement robust, scalable multi-threaded applications.
• Lead integration, verification and testing at component and system levels.
• Document architecture, interfaces and test procedures for handover.
