Job summary

World Class Defence Organisation is seeking a C# / C++ Software Engineer subcontractor for an initial 12-month contract based in Bolton, with a 4-day compressed week and on-site work. You will work in the Manufacturing Intelligence and Support team, developing multi-threaded Windows applications, integrating data capture and analysis systems, and contributing to testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in C++ / C# development in a Windows environment.
• Proficiency in C# for tooling, test interfaces, or Windows components as needed.
• Demonstrable skills in multi-threaded and concurrent programming.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience of working with technical documentation to inform the software engineering process around system software requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop the system interface computer software that captures the performance data.
• Support setting to work of new software to perform target testing on Windows hardware
• Architect and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable multi-threaded applications.
• Lead and contribute to system integration, verification, and testing at both component and system levels.
• Conduct performance analysis, debugging, and optimisation of real-time systems.
• Document architecture, interface definitions, and test procedures to support handover and formal test activities.
