Job summary

Bloomberg’s Buyside Solutions in London is seeking an experienced pre-sales engineer with deep knowledge of how asset managers measure and govern investment risk. You will link risk analytics from PORT and MARS to the broader Buy-Side proposition, deliver technical demonstrations, respond to RFPs, and support sales with client discovery and solution design.

You will work with portfolio managers, risk teams, middle office, and technology stakeholders to translate complex concepts into clear value

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of buy-side investment workflows and risk/valuation/middle-office functions.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg PORT and MARS solutions, or a relevant equivalent.
• 4+ years’ experience in a client facing role such as pre-sales, project management, specialist relationship management or solutions architect.
• Knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks and regulatory requirements (e.g., UCITS/AIFMD, Solvency II/IORP II).
• Ability to communicate complex financial/technical concepts to practitioners and senior decision-makers.
• Experience with derivatives asset class and Front-to-Back trade lifecycle in buy-side functions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales to understand customer needs and deliver Bloomberg Risk-focused value propositions.
• Support client engagements through discovery meetings and compelling POCs/demos.
• Identify client challenges, articulate solution fit, and pitch tailored propositions.
• Communicate product gaps, trends, and competitive insights with Sales and Product teams.
• Coordinate RFP/RFI responses with Operations, Sales, Product, and Legal & Compliance.
• Maintain deep knowledge of products/services and buy-side operating models.
• Partner with Implementation/Tech/Product on solutions design and TOM for complex engagements.
• Facilitate smooth handover from sales to implementation.
