Job summary

Rise Resourcing has partnered with a major UK retailer to recruit a Senior Buying Manager for the Non-Food grocery category. You will own the category strategy, supplier negotiations and JBPs across hundreds of stores nationwide in a hybrid role with three days in the office in the West Midlands.

You will steer sourcing, range development, promotions and margin delivery, building strong supplier relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive commercial growth and

Are you an ambitious Senior Buyer looking to make a major impact with a leading UK retailer? We are partnering exclusively with a major retail brand to find an experienced Buying Manager to take full ownership of the Non-Food grocery category.

In this high-profile role, you will join a high-performing commercial team and help shape the product offer across hundreds of stores nationwide.

What You'll Do

• Steer Category Strategy: Drive the strategic direction of your category- from supplier sourcing and range development to promotional planning and margin delivery.
• Build Strong Partnerships: Identify new supplier opportunities, strengthen existing relationships, and negotiate commercial terms to optimize cost and performance.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with supply chain, marketing, trading, and operations to deliver effective Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and compelling category strategies.
• Drive Commercial Growth: Own pricing, promotions, and profitability in a commercially autonomous role where your decisions directly influence long-term growth.

About You

• Solid buying experience gained within retail or wholesale
• Confident negotiator with a proven track record of managing suppliers and improving category margins.
• A collaborative mindset with exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience developing long-term category strategies or driving supplier-facing initiatives.
