Job summary

Poundland Limited in Watford is seeking a Buying Assistant to support the Essentials clothing team across men’s, women’s and children’s ranges, including nightwear, underwear, socks and hosiery, swimwear and seasonal lines. The role offers hybrid working and growth opportunities within a busy, fashion-focused buying team.

You will work on competitor reports, sample organisation, range-building tasks and data-heavy admin, with a strong emphasis on Excel and trend spotting to drive better

Qualifications

• Experience in Retail Clothing Buying or a recent Graduate in a Fashion-related degree.
• Attention to detail with strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Creative with a passion for fashion and identifying trends.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with competitor shopping reports, including website reviews, store visits and analysing promotional activity to see missed opportunities.
• Supporting the organisation of product samples, you could be part of bringing in the next viral product.
• Being a key support as part of the range build process.
• Taking ownership of spreadsheets, data is key in buying, along with category admin tasks, including the essential critical path for category products.
• Arranging supplier meetings and attending where needed.

About The Role

Join us here at Poundland & Dealzas a Buying Assistant, based at ourWatfordoffice supporting our clothing brand Pep&Co. The role offers some flexibility for hybrid working.

As a Buying Assistant with us, you’ll be aligned to our Essentials clothing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop knowledge our men’s, women’s and children’s clothing offering across our nightwear, underwear, socks & hosiery, swimwear and seasonal ranges.

Your day to day will involve:

• Assisting with competitor shopping reports, including website reviews, store visits and analysing promotional activity to see our missed opportunities.
• Supporting the organisation of product samples, you could be part of bringing in the next viral product.
• Being a key support as part of the range build process.
• Taking ownership of spreadsheets, data is key in buying, along with category admin tasks, including the essential critical path for category products.
• Arranging supplier meetings and attending where needed.

We are looking for a Buying Assistant with experience in Retail Clothing Buying or a recent Graduate in a Fashion-related degree who is ambitious to develop a career in buying.

You will have attention to detail that is on point, with strong excel and analytical skills. You will be creative with a passion for fashion and identifying trends.
