Are you a Buyer with experience procuring professional materials, plant and service supply?

Do you have experience working onlarge rail or civil engineering projects?

Salary: up to £53,000 per annum DOE
Location: Birmingham, in office 5 days per week.

I’m working on a newly created opportunity for a Buyer to join a live infrastructure project in central Birmingham. The role sits within a multi-partner delivery alliance and will focus on procurement of subcontract and supply chain packages across a major civil engineering scheme.

This role will be responsible for driving value from the supply chain through effective supply chain selection, segmentation, relationship management and development, and robust performance management.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a buyer within construction or civil engineering, preferably rail.
• Experience procuring professional materials, plant and service supply.
• Experience with NEC contracts beneficial.
• Industry related ONC/HNC/HND/Degree
• MCIPS or equivalent beneficial.

Responsibilities:

• Ensuring an effective supply chain structure is in place with clear ownership of key subcontractor relationships, whilst ensuring a consistent approach across the Business Unit.
• Providing input into subcontractor selection and the development of project tender lists and then lead the supply chain involvement.
• Support and lead subcontract procurement and develop package procurement strategies.
• Prepare tender enquiries and send out for pricing.
• Lead the Procurement element for any Tenders, contributing to pre-start and coordination meetings.
