Job summary

Haughey Recruitment in Dungannon is seeking an experienced Buyer to join a busy manufacturing environment. You will manage purchasing activities, control stock levels, and ensure continuity of supply for production.

You will negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value, develop strong supplier relationships, and maintain BOMs and purchasing records. The role requires at least 2–3 years in a buying/stores role and strong IT and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years' experience in a Buyer or Stores role with purchasing responsibilities
• Strong negotiation, organisation and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Confident working independently while contributing effectively as part of a team
• Good IT skills, including spreadsheets and purchasing systems
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet challenging deadlines
• GCSE-level Maths and English or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Manage purchasing activities to ensure continuity of supply and appropriate stock levels.
• Negotiate cost, quality and delivery with suppliers to achieve best value.
• Develop strong supplier relationships and improve supplier performance.
• Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and purchasing records.
• Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring goods receipts and invoices are processed accurately.
• Monitor stock levels and support the Stores team to maintain a lean and efficient inventory.
• Expedite urgent and critical items to avoid production delays.
• Support stock takes and initiatives to improve stock accuracy.
• Work closely with Production, Sales, Stores and Lean teams to identify and resolve material shortages.
• Assist with implementing Kanban systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure suppliers meet required Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety standards.
• Provide procurement data and performance information to management.
