Job summary

Artemis Human Capital is seeking a skilled Buyer for a manufacturing business in Dungannon, Northern Ireland. The role focuses on ensuring continuity of supply, effective procurement of materials, and maintaining stock levels to support production.

Candidate must have 2–3 years of purchasing experience in manufacturing, strong negotiation and IT skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with production and Stores teams. CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years’ experience in a Buyer or Stores role within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with good organisational abilities.
• Proficient IT skills, including spreadsheets and purchasing systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing to ensure continuity of supply and meet production demands.
• Negotiate competitive pricing, delivery timescales and terms with suppliers.
• Build supplier relationships and monitor performance.
• Raise and manage purchase orders with accurate records and timely goods receipts.
• Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and respond to changing requirements.
• Monitor stock levels, support stock takes and improve stock accuracy.
• Work with production and Stores teams to resolve shortages and expedite urgent orders.
• Support lean initiatives, stock control improvements and continuous improvement projects.
• Ensure suppliers comply with quality, environmental, health and safety standards.

We are currently recruiting for a Buyer on behalf of a well-established NI success story within the manufacturing sector in County Tyrone. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced purchasing professional to play a key role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and components, maintaining optimal stock levels and supporting production requirements.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day purchasing to ensure continuity of supply and meet production demands.

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and work effectively within a team
• CIPS qualification, engineering-related education would be desirable but not essential.
