Job summary

Escape Recruitment is seeking a proactive Buyer/Expeditor to join a growing manufacturing business in Irvine, Scotland. You will manage purchasing, supplier expediting and materials planning to keep production running smoothly.

You will raise POs, chase deliveries, monitor stock and work closely with Production and Planning. Familiarity with MRP/ERP and Excel is essential, and you will thrive in a hands-on, solutions-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, materials planning or a similar supply chain role within manufacturing.
• Confident raising POs and chasing deliveries from suppliers.
• Familiar with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• A good communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Working as part of a great Supply Chain team, you will play an important role in ensuring materials are available to meet production requirements. This is a hands‑on role covering purchasing, supplier expediting and materials planning, with a focus on keeping orders on track and production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities:

• Raising purchase orders and ensuring materials are ordered on time.
• Chasing suppliers and expediting deliveries to avoid production delays.
• Monitoring stock levels, material availability and outstanding orders.

Knowledge and experience required for the role:

• Experience in purchasing, materials planning or a similar supply chain role, ideally within manufacturing - other industries will be considered.
• Confident raising POs, chasing deliveries and dealing with suppliers.
• Familiar with MRP/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.
• A good communicator with a practical, solutions-focused approach.
