Join Sulzer, a renowned leader in fluid engineering, with a century-long tradition of excellence in pumps, agitators, compressors, and critical rotating equipment across varied industries. At our Pumps, Parts & Retrofit (PPR) division in Leeds, we are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Buyer / Expeditor to manage the procurement and timely delivery of components and services across complex projects.

Your Role:

As a Buyer / Expeditor, you’ll be at the heart of our operations—working cross-functionally to ensure products and services are purchased on time, within budget, and to the required specification. From negotiating supplier agreements to tracking delivery progress, your work will have a direct impact on project performance, supplier relationships, and operational success.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

• Managing the full procurement cycle—from requisition to delivery
• Working closely with suppliers to secure timelines, pricing, and performance
• Keeping our SAP system accurate with live delivery data
• Driving supplier development and performance reviews
• Playing a key role in continuous improvement and cost recovery initiatives
  
  

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Proven experience in a purchasing or supply chain role (engineering/manufacturing environment preferred)
• Strong commercial acumen with solid negotiation and relationship-building skills
• Confident communicator who can work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Detail-focused, organised, and proactive in resolving delivery or quality issues
