Job description

VANRATH is assisting a leading Construction company in recruiting a Buyer. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a company with one of the best cultures in NI and excellent progression prospects.

The role involves working Monday to Friday with no weekend work. It is a permanent position based at the company's Dungannon office.

Salary is negotiable, complemented by additional benefits and progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Sourcing, negotiating, and procuring materials and plant across the UK and Ireland, working closely with the Procurement Manager and buying team.
• Managing procurement processes to ensure timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality.
• Preparing comprehensive enquiry packages aligned with project timelines.
• Evaluating quotations against budgets and issuing orders to the most advantageous suppliers.
• Approving supplier invoices for payment.
• Developing market knowledge, identifying suppliers/subcontractors, and exploring value engineering options.
• Assisting the Commercial department with tenders and post-tender inquiries.
• Supporting site teams with material take-offs and supplier information during construction.

The Ideal Person

• Third-level qualification in a related field, with knowledge of building materials, products, and suppliers.
• At least 2 years of proven experience as a Buyer or Procurement Specialist within construction.
