Job summary

GSF Car Parts Limited in Wolverhampton is seeking a Buyer to support the Indirect Procurement function, delivering cost-effective, compliant sourcing across the business. Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing across indirect spend categories and monitor shared mailbox
• Lead sourcing exercises including RFQs, supplier comparisons and cost analysis
• Deliver cost down against an annual cost reduction plan and efficiency targets
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure timely supply
• Manage supplier onboarding, compliance documents and maintain records
• Negotiate and prepare contracts using templated terms & conditions
• Lead supplier performance monitoring and SRM activities for allocated categories
• Manage invoice queries and work with Finance to resolve discrepancies
• Ensure business-wide compliance with procurement processes
• Support use of systems and AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline procurement processes
• Reduce Tail Spend and rationalise suppliers
• Assist in ESG workstreams to support GSF’s ESG strategy

About The Role

The Buyer will support the Indirect Procurement function in the delivery of a cost-effective, efficient and compliant supply of goods and services across the business. The role will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support sourcing activity, supplier management, contract administration, supplier onboarding, ESG compliance, invoice validation and cost control initiatives, whilst developing procurement capability and commercial understanding.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across multiple indirect spend categories, develop core procurement skills and progress a career within the Indirect Procurement team.

Principal Accountabilities

• Support day‑to‑day purchasing activity across indirect spend categories and manage the shared mailbox
• Lead sourcing exercises, including RFQs, supplier comparisons and cost analysis
• Deliver cost down against an annual cost reduction plan and efficiency targets
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure a timely supply
• Manage supplier onboarding, compliance documents and maintain accurate records in the document library
• Negotiate and prepare contracts using templated terms & conditions
• Lead supplier performance monitoring and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for allocated categories
• Manage invoice queries and work with suppliers and Finance to resolve discrepancies
• Ensure business wide compliance with procurement processes
• Support use of systems and AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline procurement processes
• Reduce Tail Spend and rationalise suppliers
• Assist in the delivery of the Scope 3 Net Zero and EcoVadis workstreams to support GSF’s ESG strategy

This role is hybrid with 3 days in our office in Wolverhampton

About You

Skills, Know How and Experience

• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• An interest in procurement and supply chain, with a desire to develop professionally
• CIPS qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards CIPS is desirable
• Experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain environment (preferred but not essential)
• Good numerical skills and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to organise workload, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
• A proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers
• A customer service mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
