Job summary

Niche Recruitment Ltd is seeking a detail-driven Buyer for a fast-growing British EV manufacturer. You will own the MRP system, manage purchase orders across Europe and Asia, and expedite components to keep production on schedule.

Responsibilities include managing imports, supporting engineering changes, and exploring smarter ways of working, including AI tools, to improve efficiency in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on MRP/ERP experience in a manufacturing environment driving planning data.
• Proven experience expediting overseas suppliers and managing imports including customs.
• Strong eye for detail and accuracy under pace.

• Raising and managing purchase orders across Europe and Asia.
• Expediting components to meet production schedules and resolving issues.
• Managing imports from start to finish including freight and customs clearance.

Help power the growth of an innovative British EV brand

Our client is a fast-growing British manufacturer of premium electric vehicles, with a team of more than 80 and customers across the UK, Europe and the US. More international markets are opening soon, production is set to rise significantly next year, and new models are already in development.

They're looking for a detail-driven Buyer to keep their supply chain running smoothly. Working closely with the Head of Procurement, you'll make sure every part arrives on time, every purchase order is accurate, and the production line never misses a beat.

What you'll be doing

• Owning the MRP system and keeping its data accurate day to day, so production, finance and the wider business can plan with confidence
• Raising and managing purchase orders across a key supplier base in Europe and Asia
• Expediting components to meet production schedules and resolving supply issues before they affect the line
• Managing imports from start to finish, including freight, shipping documents and customs clearance
• Supporting engineering changes alongside the engineering team
• Handling some indirect purchasing
• Finding smarter ways of working, including practical use of AI tools

What you'll bring

• Hands-on MRP or ERP experience in a manufacturing environment, with a genuine understanding of how the data drives planning
• Proven experience expediting overseas suppliers
• Practical importing knowledge, including Incoterms and customs processes
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay accurate at pace
• A collaborative approach and the confidence to build good relationships with engineers, production teams and suppliers

It would be great if you also have

• Experience setting up or implementing an MRP system
• The ability to read technical drawings
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• A background in automotive, EV or premium product manufacturing
