Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment is seeking a Buyer in Poole to own purchasing decisions and keep production on schedule. You’ll manage orders, chase suppliers, and monitor inventory to resolve shortages within an electronics manufacturing setting.

Key requirements include prior buying experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems; BOM knowledge and EMS exposure are advantageous. Enjoy early Friday finishes and on-site parking in a busy, detail-oriented role.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Buyer or purchasing role.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Confidence using ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in a sub-contract or EMS environment, or knowledge of BOM structures is advantageous.
• Working towards or holding a CIPS qualification would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Place and manage purchase orders in line with MRP signals, production schedules and customer demand.
• Chase suppliers proactively to secure on time delivery and resolve order queries.
• Monitor inventory levels and work with Planning, Stores and Production to resolve material shortages.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and material data within the ERP/MRP system.
• Support BOM accuracy by flagging component availability or lifecycle concerns.
• Generate purchasing and supplier performance reports.

You'll take ownership of purchasing decisions that keep production running to schedule as a Buyer.

This is a role for someone that takes pride in getting the detail right, every time.

Every order, every supplier query, every shortage relies on you to bring order and structure.

As a Buyer, you will benefit from:

• Holiday entitlement of 172.5 hours (4.6 weeks), with hours reserved each year for the Christmas shutdown
• Enhanced company sick pay on a staggered, incremental basis

• An early finish every Friday at 1pm

As a Buyer, your responsibilities will include:
