Job Opportunity: Factored Goods Buyer at Sulzer

With over a century of expertise, Sulzer specializes in delivering innovative technologies across various industries worldwide. Our Advanced Pump Design and Manufacturing facility in Leeds is seeking a skilled Factored Goods Buyer to strengthen our procurement team.

Your main tasks and responsibilities:

1. Manage procurement of factored goods for OEM pump manufacturing, including seals, gaskets, bearings, impellers, casings, motor drives, valves, piping, filters, sensors, and more.
2. Identify, assess, and onboard new suppliers to meet OEM manufacturing standards.
3. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to secure cost savings while maintaining quality.
4. Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement strategies.
5. Monitor supplier performance and take corrective actions as needed.
6. Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain.

Requirements to succeed in this role:

• Procurement experience in an OEM manufacturing environment, especially with factored goods (preferred).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and supplier markets.
• Negotiation skills and experience in sourcing and contracts.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications and work collaboratively across teams.
• Professional qualifications such as CIPS are advantageous.
• Focus on continuous improvement and cost reduction.
