You will perform a diverse procurement function, manage stock data, and drive supplier evaluation and cost optimisation. Responsibilities

• Sourcing and Research: Find reliable vendors, compare product quality versus price, and research market trends or consumer data.
• Negotiation: Negotiate the best possible prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Ordering and Administration: Raise, track, and manage Purchase Orders using ERP systems.
• Quality and Standards: Ensure purchased items meet safety, regulatory, and quality requirements.
• Problem Solving: Expedite delayed shipments, resolve invoice or quality disputes, and handle supply chain disruptions.
• Cost Optimisation: Balance cost efficiency with brand and operational standards to protect the company’s bottom line.

THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking a Buyer to work for a client based in the Knaresborough area. You will join an existing team of 4 and you will perform a buying procurement function within the business. The organisation has over 6000 goods registered within inventory with 300 0 stocked products. You will be dynamic to undertake buying within a wide variation of products covered by a diversified mix of suppliers.

This role involves buying, forecasting, understanding buying patterns, trending and analysing data, stock analysis, process optimisation, managing non-conformance, reviewing suppliers, completing evaluation matrix’s, negotiation, rebate negotiation and project work. This is a well-rounded role that will enable the successful candidate to develop their buying skills and develop in the role.

THE ROLE
