Buyer (6-Month FTC)

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Buyer to join an industry-leading manufacturing company based in Aylesbury, United Kingdom. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about efficient, cost-effective procurement within the manufacturing sector.
Professional fluency in English is essential. German would be beneficial but is not essential, as you will engage with both local and international suppliers. The focus of this role is transactional purchasing -speaking directly with suppliers and sourcing materials effectively.
Office-based in Aylesbury with some flexibility to work from home, supporting a good work-life balance.
Manufacturing Focus: Gain hands-on experience in procurement within the manufacturing industry, supporting critical production needs.
Competitive Package: 43,000 salary plus a 3% annual bonus and a supportive working environment.
Travel: Some travel may be required, though this is very unlikely initially. All travel expenses will be covered if supplier visits are needed.
Manage transactional procurement, ensuring the smooth, cost-effective purchasing of materials.
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring clear communication and availability of required components.
Handle day-to-day purchasing of raw materials, components, and services to meet MRP, Kanban, and Sales Order requirements.
Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and inventory.
Source materials based on engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Work closely with internal teams to resolve production issues and ensure timely delivery.
Review supplier performance focusing on cost, quality, and delivery reliability.
Support inventory management to align stock levels with production schedules.
Contribute to cost-saving initiatives and vendor relationship improvements.
Must have the right to work in the UK; no sponsorship available.
Degree-level education or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Buyer role, preferably in manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of MRP systems and supply chain processes.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
Fluent in English; German is a plus but not essential.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook).
