Job summary

Alchem Partners are excited to be engaged as the search partner to a global manufacturing business. We are seeking an experienced Buyer who can support the operations function by ensuring the availability of materials, services and a smooth PO process across the site, while maintaining compliance and supplier performance.

You will review and secure new suppliers, negotiate terms, manage supplier performance, and collaborate with production teams and planners to optimise stock levels, lead times

Qualifications

• Experience in buying within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Willingness to travel to supplier sites.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability of materials and services and manage a smooth PO process.
• Review and secure new suppliers; negotiate terms and manage supplier performance.

Alchem Partners are excited to be engaged as the search partner to a global manufacturing business, who support a number of industries all over the world. An innovative business, taking pride in their technical dedication and customer focus with sites globally.

Our client seeks to recruit an experienced Buyer who can support the operations function ensuring availability of materials, services and a smooth PO process across the facility. You will be responsible for reviewing and securing new suppliers ensuring efficiency, availability and cost effectiveness for the business.

The successful candidate will have proven experience within a buying role, within a manufacturing background. You will be able to build strong relationships both internally and externally, be able to work closely with the production teams and planners to ensure availability of materials, and review and improve the internal ordering processes.

Required experience:

• CIPS or similar qualification would be advantageous but not essential
• Proven experience in a similar position within a manufacturing environment
• Have strong attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
• Ability to travel to suppliers as and when required
• SAP, Microsoft office and any other system experience would be beneficial
