Job summary

Butler Ross is seeking a Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to join a busy manufacturing supply chain. The role offers hybrid working with up to two days per week from home and a salary up to £40,000.

Job description

A fantastic opportunity for a Buyer / Purchasing Specialist to join an established manufacturing business, with a salary of up to £40,000 and the opportunity to work from home up to 2 days per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Buyer to join a busy Supply Chain function, taking responsibility for the procurement of materials, components and services. The role will involve working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders, managing purchase orders through an MRP/ERP system, driving commercial improvements and supporting ongoing business projects.

Candidates will have previous experience within purchasing or procurement within a manufacturing environment, with strong MRP/ERP experience.

Role responsibilities of the Buyer include:
  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers and raise purchase orders using an MRP/ERP system.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and support competitive tenders to achieve commercial improvements.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of materials and proactively expedite orders where required.

Person Specification of the Buyer:
  • Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain role within manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP systems.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, self-motivated and organised with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
Salary & Benefits
  • Salary: Up to £40,000
