Job summary

Cranswick Country Foods in Preston is recruiting labourers to support our butchery department with general manual labour duties. The role involves pushing and pulling heavy equipment in an ambient temperature environment and complying with food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Labouring/Factory/Warehouse experience preferred but not essential.
• Experience in fast-paced, hands-on environments.
• Able to work to daily targets.
• Comfortable with heavy lifting and cold environments.
• Awareness of food hygiene and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour duties in the butchery department, including pushing and pulling of dolavs and pump trucks.
• Move 10kg pouches of meat trimmings.
• Prepare/line/rake out dolavs.
• Maintain a clean area meeting safety and hygiene regulations.
• Wear PPE at all times in production area.
• Report equipment defects to the Line Leader.
• Uphold housekeeping and hygiene to ensure product safety, with attention to temperature control.
• Attend required training per legislation and safety guidelines.

Job description

• To complete general labour duties within the butchery department, including pushing and pulling of dolavs and pump trucks
• Moving 10kg pouches of meat trimmings
• Preparing / lining/ raking out dolavs
• Maintain a clean and tidy area meeting both safety and hygiene regulations of the site
• Wear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment at all times within the production area
• Report any equipment defects immediately to the Line Leader
• Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene
• Attend required training in line with current legislation, Health and Safety guidelines and changing departmental operations
• Understand and minimise energy and waste within the department
  Labouring/Factory/Warehouse experience (preferable but not essential)
• Experience working in fast-paced, hands-on environments
• Able to work to daily targets
• Comfortable with heavy lifting and working in cold environments
• Awareness of the importance of food hygiene and health and safety
• Suitable transport to commute to HU12 8TB
