Job summary

Cranswick plc is recruiting a QA Operative at our Preston site to carry out quality checks and maintain standards in line with legislation and customer requirements. The role is based at a flagship pork manufacturing site with recent investments supporting advanced logistics and operations.

You will conduct audits, temperature verifications and sampling across GMP and CCP processes, ensuring non-conformances are closed and preventative actions are taken.

Qualifications

• Experience in QA/Technical/Production roles in FMCG.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable transport to HU12 8TB.

Responsibilities

• Carry out label and process control audits every 1-2 hours and raise issues.
• Perform temperature verification checks on products and environments.
• Collect samples for chemical, microbiological and organoleptic tests.
• Carry out calibration checks and record results.
• Conduct pre-operational hygiene inspections and report failings.
• Perform GMP audits and communicate corrective actions.
• Verify CCPs for area and report non-conformances.
• Close non-conformances and prevent recurrence.
• Assess quality attributes on finished products and raw material intake.
• Ensure product adherence to specifications.

We are currently recruiting for a QA Operative to be responsible for carrying out all relevant quality checks, maintaining technical standards in line with legislation and customer requirements. This role is based at one of our flagship pork manufacturing sites, where recent investments have paved the way for cutting-edge logistics and operational improvements.

Main Duties Include (but not limited to):

• Conducting label / process control audits every 1-2 hours to ensure records are being completed correctly and at the right times as well as raising and issues at the time
• Conducting temperature verification checks (including sterilisers, hand washing stations, product, environmental)
• Ensure collection of chemical, microbiological and organoleptic samples in line with current schedules
• Conducting calibration checks and record the results
• Conducting pre-operational hygiene inspections and report any failings immediately
• Conducting GMP audits and fabrication to ensure any corrective actions required are communicated
• Conducting CCP verification relevant to the area being worked in and report any Non-Conformances
• Ensure closure of any non-conformances raised and proactive prevention of repetition
• Quality attribute assessments on finished product to the defined attributes and a specified frequency
• Completing raw material intake checks to ensure all product adheres to the specification

What We Look For:

• Experience in a similar role - QA / Technical / Experienced Production Operative
• Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (food manufacturing preferred but not essential)
• Strong level of attention to detail
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety
• Comfortable working in fast-paced environments
• Suitable transport to get to HU12 8TB
