Morrisons in Scotland is hiring a Manufacturing Butcher - Skilled (Beef) for our abattoir. You will be multi-skilled on the deboning line, preparing primals for trimming and helping to deliver high quality meat in a safe, hygienic environment. You will follow training in food safety, work in a chilled environment between 2 and 9 degrees, and use knives or bladed machines.

Applicants with butchery and knife skills experience and a Food Safety Level 2 (desirable) will fit well. Full PPE provided.

More About The Role

At Morrisons we're proud to produce high quality meat products for our customers, both in store and our external partners. As a Manufacturing Butcher - Skilled (Beef) in our abattoir, you'll be multi-skilled across tasks on the deboning line to remove small bones from primals of meat. You will work towards the site objective of providing high quality products in a safe, efficient and hygienic environment.

You will follow training in food safety to ensure food safe products are produced for our customers, ensuring health and safety processes are maintained to create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues. You'll use a knife or bladed machine to prepare primal for trimming, and will focus on completing tasks efficiently in order to reduce waste and downtime.

You’ll be the kind of person who:

• Has previous butchery and knife skills experience
• Is able to maintain concentration and consistently high standards in a fast paced food manufacturing environment
• Is able to understand detailed training and follow guidance and instructions
• Can work in a chilled environment between 2 and 9 degrees
• Food Safety Level 2 is desirable, but can be trained at site

Please note that this is an abattoir / slaughterhouse environment and you will be in the presence of raw meat and carcasses, working in a chilled environment of between 2 and 9 degrees. Full personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn at all times.
