Job summary

MCS Group in Belfast is seeking a Business Systems Analyst / Developer to support and develop business-critical applications, troubleshoot issues and keep systems running smoothly. The role combines hands-on programming, application support and business systems improvement.

You will work across ERP, finance and EPOS software, test data and programs, and communicate clearly with users at all levels. Based at Head Office with 8.30am–5.00pm, Monday to Friday; a current driving licence is required

Qualifications

• Third-level education is required.
• Strong programming ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
• Experience testing data, programs and processes.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly with users at all levels.

Responsibilities

Business Systems Analyst / Developer

Reporting to the IT Manager, you'll support and develop business-critical applications, helping colleagues resolve technical issues and keeping operational systems running effectively. This role combines hands‑on programming, application support and business systems improvement. RPG experience is desirable, but candidates with strong programming ability and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply. Full training will be provided as required.

The role

• Maintain and enhance bespoke business applications.
• Support systems across retail, hospitality, wholesale, ERP and finance.
• Perform database maintenance and system monitoring.
• Provide remote and on‑site technical support to users.
• Work with internal teams and external technology suppliers to resolve issues.
• Contribute to digital forensics activities when required.
• Prioritise tasks according to business impact and follow issues through to resolution.
