Job summary

OpenWorks Engineering is seeking a Business Systems Manager to strengthen how we use systems, data and AI across the business, working with departments to identify opportunities and deliver technology-enabled improvements.

You will shape how our systems develop as OpenWorks grows, collaborating with department leaders and our IT team to improve efficiency, data quality and organisational effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Experience evaluating, selecting and implementing business systems across an organisation.
• Strong experience gathering business requirements and translating them into practical technology solutions.
• Broad systems knowledge across departments with integration awareness.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms and supplier management to support business needs.
• Understanding AI integration technologies and potential workflows is desirable.
• Pragmatic, solutions-focused and able to improve efficiency, data and performance.
• Excellent communication with non-technical users and stakeholders.
• Experience in engineering, manufacturing, defence or aerospace is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Map and optimise our systems: understand business systems, data ownership and workflows to improve technology support.
• Identify business improvement opportunities with departments to enhance efficiency, quality, data accuracy and reporting.
• Coordinate system requirements across departments to align, prioritise and reduce duplication.
• Manage system development: monitor performance, lifecycle and opportunities as the business grows.
• Deliver new systems: facilitate requirements, stakeholder engagement and reviews to meet business needs.
• Support successful adoption: guide users and provide effective communication and training.
• Develop business intelligence: use data to generate insights for better decision-making.
• Explore AI opportunities: evaluate AI tech to deliver tangible improvements.
