C1 £27,711 - £30,060, plus shift and weekend enhancement

Hours:

37 hours a week, working hours are between 7.00am – 8.00pm

As a Business Support Officer (Rostering), you will bring to the role:

The Skills for Independent living (SkILs) Reablement Service supports vulnerable people to live independently in their own home. The service operates 7 days a week between 07.00 – 22.00 hrs, and Business Support Officers work between 07.00 – 20.00 hrs on a rota system covering 7 days, 365 days per year. Business Support Officers are based at Tribeca House, Roundhay Road, Leeds, LS7.

Your role

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to work within the Reablement Service as a Business Support Officer. You will work alongside other Business Support Officers, Managers, Case Officers, Supervisors, and Support Workers to ensure that people in Leeds receive a Reablement service that enables them to stay in their own home.

You will be supportive, ambitious, with excellent organisational skills. You will be a confident communicator with a can-do approach.

Job Description
Job purpose

You will work as part of a team scheduling care visits to adults in their own homes following hospital discharge. You should have experience in administration, working flexibly, managing priorities, and working collaboratively with internal and external agencies, customers, and families. This role is fully office-based.

Responsibilities
  • Arrange the provision of the SkILs Reablement Service to meet users’ and carers’ assessed needs, including processing quotations and liaising with managers for approval, especially when budgets are constrained.
  • Compile weekly work programmes for the service and inform staff accordingly, matching staff to service users based on assessed needs via the rostering system.
  • Adjust staff work programmes as needed due to changes in service users' or staff's circumstances, maximising contract hours utilization through electronic systems.
  • Inform staff of service users’ needs, care plans, preferences, and safety considerations, supported by supervisors and the rostering system.
  • Attend meetings as required by managers.
  • Input data into electronic systems such as CIS Financials, Excel, and rostering software.
  • Communicate with assessment and care management staff and other health and social care professionals regarding service user needs.
  • Respond to enquiries about the SkILs services, including handling complaints, admissions, and schedule changes, updating the rostering system accordingly.
  • Record staff sickness, training, leave, and holiday data, and process care package notifications.
  • Ensure out-of-hours amendments are updated from reports received from the contact centre and daily activities.
  • Maintain accurate staff and service information.
  • Participate in the duty roster and support the promotion of the service’s standards and values.
  • Support the out-of-hours on-call team during emergencies.
  • Undertake training, attend supervision, team meetings, and briefings.
  • Follow all relevant policies, including health and safety and customer care procedures.
  • Engage in ongoing training and development, and travel as required.
  • Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade as requested by management.
  • Adhere to the Caldicott Principles and promote equality and diversity.
