Job summary

Brunshaw Community Primary School in Burnley is seeking a highly organised SEND Administrator to join the team and support the SEND provision. The Headteacher and Governors of Brunshaw Community Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly organised, conscientious and enthusiastic SEND Administrator to join our busy and supportive school team.

Brunshaw is a thriving two-form entry community school, proudly serving our local families and supported by LA-maintained SEN Units. We are committed to providing an inclusive, nurturing and supportive environment where every child is valued, their individual needs are understood, and they are given the opportunity to thrive.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting the effective administration of our SEND provision. Working closely with the SENDCo, teaching staff, families and external professionals, you will help ensure that SEND information, records, communication and processes are managed efficiently, accurately and confidentially.

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and a genuine commitment to supporting children with additional needs. The role would suit someone who enjoys working collaboratively and who can build positive relationships with children, parents, colleagues and professionals.

  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and can build positive relationships with families and professionals.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail and understands the importance of confidentiality and accurate record keeping.
  • Is confident using IT and able to maintain clear and accurate SEND records and documentation.
  • Can work collaboratively with the SENDCo, staff, parents/carers and external agencies.
  • Has a positive, calm and compassionate approach when supporting children and families.
  • Is committed to inclusion and ensuring that every child receives the support they need to achieve their potential.
  • Is willing to learn and develop their knowledge of SEND processes and practice.

Essential Qualifications
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in English / Literacy
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Maths / Numeracy (grade C or above or equivalent)
Essential Experience
  • Operation of various administrative and management information systems
  • Working in a busy office and on the front line with service users
  • Working under pressure, with conflicting priorities & to tight deadlines
Desirable Experience
  • Working under own initiative
  • Working within a team environment
  • Use of Sims
  • Working within or alongside an educational establishment
