Job Description

Purpose of the role To establish and nurture profitable partnerships with both corporate and individual clients. It's the bridge between the bank's offerings and clients' needs, ensuring mutual benefit and long-term success.

Accountabilities

Management of client relationships to identify the clients financial goals, challenges, and risk tolerance to support the analysis of data obtained from various sources, including the investment portfolio and cash flow, to identify trends, insights, areas for improvement and additional services to support client needs. Research and understanding of the client's industry trends, regulatory landscape, and competitive environment to inform strategic recommendations. Design of customised solutions that address the client's specific needs and objectives, incorporating a range of products and services from the bank's portfolio. Communication of the value proposition of proposed solutions, justification of recommendations, and negotiation of terms that are beneficial for both the client and the bank. Provision of guidance to clients to support their financial decisions, offering expert investment advice, risk management and wealth management strategies support, and updates on market trends to ensure a positive and continuous relationship. Assessment of financial, legal, and operational risks associated with client relationships, and implementation of measures to minimise potential losses. Documentation of all client interactions, transactions, and agreements to ensure transparency and auditability, and communicate findings effectively to support product development, service offerings, and the overall bank strategy. Monitoring of client satisfaction, revenue generated, and other relevant metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of relationship management efforts.

Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively. Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience. Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes. As a Business Relationship Manager

You will be building and maintaining relationships with both new and existing clients. You will be the face of Barclays as you travel to visit clients at their business premises and gain an understanding of their strategic ambitions and lending needs. You will be flexible and adaptable with your time; managing your diary effectively, and have the ability to drive to visit clients.

Essential criteria

Professional written and verbal communication for telephony and face to face client interactions. Contributing as a team player with the ability to work using your own initiative to complete tasks when required. Knowledge of business banking. Business Development in a financial industry. Experience of working in a customer-facing role. You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Preferred and primary location

will be in Brighton and the surrounding area.
